Setting out for our first look at traps. From left: Mike, Jonathan, Janette, Lincoln, Josh, Kea and Dayton (Tony on camera)
A few of us Rutherford students were lucky enough to take part in a Tika Māori and Pacific internship that included activities such as venturing through bushy areas, learning computer programming as well as engineering concepts, and our favourite, pizza lunches!!
We got to explore Harbourview beach reserve and the traps that were in the area. Most of us wore shorts and a t-shirt, not knowing that there would be flax bushes and thorns covering most of the area. Long story short, our legs and arms were stinging for days.
