Tika Māori and Pacific: Tales of Diversity

Ngā mihi to all of the participants for sharing your inspirational and insightful stories with Tony!
All young people in Aotearoa New Zealand should have the opportunity to pursue education pathways to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) professions.

Māori and Pacific students make up just 10% of the overall Engineering cohort at the University of Auckland, even though Māori and Pacific Peoples now comprise almost one quarter of Aotearoa New Zealand’s people.

Tales of Diversity is a transdisciplinary research project within Te Pūnaha Matatini’s Tika Māori & Pacific kete. We’re connecting the power of stories and personal narratives in STEM to statistical models of diversity across educational pathways to improve equity in STEM professions.
